Team India captain Rohit Sharma hailed Suryakumar Yadav for his brilliant century in a losing cause against England in the third and final T20I of the series in Nottingham on Sunday (July 10). Chasing a massive 216, Suryakumar played a lone hand for India, scoring a blazing 117 off 55 balls. He struck 14 fours and six sixes to give India faint hopes of a victory. India, however, fell short, ending on 198 for 9.

India captain Rohit Sharma stated that he is happy with what the side managed to achieve in the white-ball series against West Indies at home. According to Rohit, the hosts pretty much got what they wanted from the games. On Sunday, India clinched the three-match T20I series 3-0 by winning the final match by 17 runs. Before that, they had hammered the Windies by the same margin in the one-day series.

The second T20I of the series between India and Sri Lanka has been postponed by a day after India all-rounder Krunal Pandya tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. The match will now be played on Wednesday, July 28 at the R Premadasa stadium in Colombo. Krunal and eight other close contacts have been placed in isolation. According to reports, the close contacts include Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav, who were due to fly to England for the Test series. As of now, no latest COVID cases have been reported from the Sri Lankan camp.

Kishan’s selection came on the day he hammered 173 off 94 balls, with 11 sixes, for Jharkhand against Madhya Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
